CEOP statement in response to the Home Office Review of the Protection of Children from Sex Offenders

CEOP welcomes the proposals published by the Home Office in the Review of the Protection of Children from Sex Offenders today and supports the introduction of any measures which seek to improve the way that child sex offenders are managed. CEOP continues to work with police forces across the UK in tracking and monitoring sex offenders who fail to comply with their notification requirements. The Centre also supports the review of information provided by offenders at the point of registration on the sex offenders register as this will assist close and more effective management of these individuals. CEOP remains committed to ensuring there is no hiding place for those who seek to abuse and exploit children and will relentlessly pursue the prosecution of those individuals.
