Advanced Interview Techniques with Child Sex Offenders
A Three-Day Master Class

The new Advanced Interview Techniques with Child Sex Offenders master class will enable students to build on the knowledge gained at the pre-requisite courses and will assist experienced interview practitioners to fine-tune their skills in this area.

Students will be introduced to a unique and innovative approach to planning, devising and delivering an interviewing strategy for use with child sex offenders, and will explore personality types, and how they can be used in the interview process.

The course is open to professionals who work to protect children from harm and bring perpetrators of sexual abuse to account. Students must have already attended the following CEOP training courses:

Assessment

Students will be appraised on the basis of their acquired knowledge and demonstrated skills. Evaluation of competence will take the form of an assessed interview simulation.

In addition, enrolled CEOP Academy students will be required to sit an examination on day 3 of this course, enabling a gateway for successful students to undertake the fifth and final module with UCLan and achieve the Post Graduate Certificate in Behavioural Forensic Psychology.

The Advanced Interview Techniques with Child Sex Offenders 3-day Master Class places a strong emphasis on the investigative interviewing techniques of suspected or known child sex offenders. As a result attendance of the Master Class is restricted to professionals working in this field who can evidence that they meet at least one the following criteria:

Please note that the Foundation Course in Understanding Child Sex Offenders( PS3851), The Use of The Internet by Child Sex Offenders (PS4851) and the Interviewing Sex Offenders (PS3852) must be completed before attending The Advanced Interview Techniques with Child Sex Offenders 3-day Master Class.

Due to the intensive nature of this course, places are limited to 30 students per course.

Joe Sullivan MA (Crim), BA (Hons), CQSW, Dip Psych

Joe Sullivan is a recognised authority on this subject now seconded to CEOP. He is an Honorary Lecturer in Forensic Psychology at the University of Birmingham. He has assisted police forces in the UK and in other European countries on major crime enquiries involving the sexual murder of children, child abduction, organised child crime abuse and the sexual abuse of children on the internet.

Specialist CEOP facilitators will assist in the delivery of this program.
